Hi, I’m Kumiko!
A proud mom, Early Childhood Educator, Educational Assistant, and a nature lover who wants to help you find a way to become a better version of you.
I was born and raised in Japan where living in harmony with others & nature are embedded in our culture.
But when I look back, my childhood wasn’t a happy one. A lack of emotional support and expectations based on gender bias resulted in behavioral issues in the form of rebellion. Since my parents were both working, I was left with never-ending chores. I remember crying while watching other children playing outside.
Meanwhile, connections to nature & the caring community (my mother created) taught me some important life skills like curiosity, problem solving, communication, and much more. These precious connections inspired me to be who I am today.
That curiosity took me somewhere I never imagined – Canada! It was the draw of nature and a more liberal society that led me to become a mother here.
Being a mom is hard and draining. I often felt defeated because I subconsciously tried to be a perfect mom. Where did that perfectionism come from? Surprise, surprise! It was my mom, aunties, grandma…there were many role models in my life so I had to be sure to mirror the good and ignore the not so good.
The more I learned about myself, the less stressed I became…something changed my mindset. Once I deeply connected to myself, I subconsciously started taking small DIY actions for a better me & a better world. That’s why I strongly believe in education/learning.
At almost age 50, I thought sharing my childhood & motherhood experiences could be a spark for crafting your future. I don’t want any child or mother going through the same pain.
And when you take action for your future, everyone else around you benefits from it. This is how we can help change the world.
I’m here to help you make a positive change through 3 connections: with yourself, with nature, and with others. Let’s learn & grow together!❤️
Thank you for reading to the end.
